FleetZero and Change Energy Services Awarded Hydrogen Feasibility Study for Halifax Regional Municipality

Study will focus on supply, storage and use of Hydrogen and Hydrogen fuel cell buses for Halifax Transit.

July 25, 2023 – Halifax, Canada – FleetZero Inc., a trusted solution provider that simplifies the energy transition for public and private fleets, and Change Energy Services, a leading Hydrogen and alternative propulsion engineering and design firm, are pleased to announce that they have been successfully awarded the contract to complete a feasibility study for Halifax Transit on the supply, storage and use of Hydrogen and Hydrogen fuel cell buses.

As experts supporting transport decarbonization for public transit agencies for decades, the joint team is well versed in providing leading insights, evidence-informed analysis and data driven GHG modelling for hydrogen and other alternative fuel propulsion technologies for transit applications. This feasibility study will help Halifax Transit balance the potential benefits of service resiliency during power outages against securing reliable and affordable sources of green Hydrogen. The study will also identify design considerations for Halifax Transit’s new Burnside Transit Centre.
